gouache & watercolor/paper, 10” x 7”

Going back to my industrial roots with this recent gouache painted on location in the North Bronx. I moved to Jersey City, NJ shortly after graduating from art school and started painting in the industrial parks that surround that part of Jersey. I’ve always enjoyed the combination of text and colorful structures that can be found in industrial parks. I love painting rust! This one was painted in my car using some masking tape and the steering wheel as an easel. What I love about gouache is the jewel tone colors and the matt finish, not to mention the quick clean up when painting in my car.
