                                                                                  TIM DALY • VALERI LARKO

PAINTERS TIM DALY AND VALERI LARKO won the coveted Commissions to create two monumental series of paintings that will become permanent fixtures at NJ Transit's Secaucus Transfer Station. Hoboken-based Daly likes to use the term `lyrical realism " to describe his 32 paintings depicting often overlooked worlds as seen from the New Jersey rails. Summit artist Larko worked with a train historian to create two murals, each 5 feet inches high and 27'/2 feet wide, plus two smaller works representing the four corners of New Jerseys northern half, the portion of the state that the station will serve. For serious art lovers, the Secaucus station, scheduled to open in the fall, won’t be the place to switch trains. It’ll be a destination. -Maggie Bruen
