The landscape I am most compelled to paint is the city or more specifically the fringes of the city. In these often overlooked areas I find grit and beauty in equal measures. I'm attracted to the abandoned & decaying structures, the urban waterways, the graffiti laced walls speaking their own obscure language and the solitude that can be found in the most unlikely of places.
Each site has it's own story to tell and through patient observation acquired over months of painting on location, I work to bring that story to life to and to capture the visual poetry of these sites.
